Kiaat-Framed Protea Minis

The protea is South Africa's national flower and there are hundreds of different varieties. Their seeds survive veld fires that ravage other species and they're a key constiuent of the fynbos ecosystem, providing shelter and food for hundreds of birds and insects. They are a joy to paint!

I created these minis specifically to used on decor and gift items but they turned out too cute not to frame. I've chosen a contemporary kiaat wood frame which is wide enough to allow them stand on their own on a shelf or desktop, or be hung (preferably as a collection). 

They make a lovely gift for a gardener, cook or anyone who sits at a desk wishing they could be outside.
